Written and produced for the installation of “Painted Space” by Jacob Ouillette at the Open Source Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. It was directed by Ramona Pula.
A walks in off the street into a gallery. There he sees B. A is intrigued by B. Is B toying with him? Is she a ghost? Or is B a 2000+ year old literary character? A and B try to figure one another out through wooing, challenging, and even singing and dancing to their own version of “Tea for Two.” Where A sees life, history and art as a series of contradictions, B sees patterns. The patterns are as numinous to B as they are cryptic to A. Finally A capitulates to B, and he moves on into the evening.
