This plays tells four versions of the Red Riding Hood story, based primarily on three sources. The first version, "Little Red Riding Hood," is from Britain, ca. 1729. The second version is "Rotkäppchen" ("Little Red Cap"), from the first edition of Wilhelm and Jakob Grimms' Kinder-und Hausmärchen, 1812. The third version is an 18th century French folktale. The fourth is original.
